Paddle, Plod, Pedal Challenge!

26 June 2016

In June, the Aspire family stepped out of our suits and dresses and into our lycra as we tackled the ''Paddle, Plod and Pedal'’ challenge. The PPP challenge followed a 45-mile circular route through beautiful Worcestershire countryside. The distance left the office quavering as initial miscommunication informed the participants that it was 45 kilometres – considerably less than the actual amount of 45 miles!

The members who took part included Jack Thomas, Alan Nolan, Rhian Lloyd, Andrea Palmer, Malcolm Brookes, Karen Weston and Karen Brady.

Starting out 7am on a Sunday morning, a total of 11 hours of rowing, cycling and hiking through the Worcestershire countryside certainly left us aching the next day!

The initial aim was to raise £1,500 for this 12-hour challenge in aid of St Richard's Hospice Foundation who provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. However, with a bunch of very generous friends, clients and family who donated, we finished with an amazing total of £4,036!

A massive thank you to St Richard's Hospice for putting on this enduring challenge and an even bigger thank you to all of our clients, friends and family that donated.
