Rhian moved from her seaside hometown of Aberdyfi to the bright lights of Birmingham in 2010 and joined Aspire Business Partnership in July 2013 after graduating university.

Rhian specialises in advising clients on all things construction, namely the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), the CITB Levy, Gross Payment Status applications/revocations, the VAT reverse charge, employment status and due diligence / supply chain management in construction and temporary labour supply chains.

Rhian delivers training on a variety of topics to ensure that that not only those “at the top” understand the importance of compliance and instead, those undertaking the day to day operations understand why compliance is crucial to all businesses. Training topics that Rhian has recently delivered include IR35/off-payroll reforms, compliance with the CIS, the VAT reverse charge in construction and engagement methods offered by contracting intermediaries. Rhian also has experience speaking at external third-party events, such as the Federation of Master Builders and UK200 Group.

Rhian has completed the CIPD Level 3 Certificate in HR Practice and the CIPD Level 5 Award in Employment Law, making her an Associate Member of the CIPD.  As well as employment tax, she advises Aspire's clients on a wide range of HR issues, including the complexities of HR in temporary labour supply chains.

Rhian has also been awarded with a Certificate of Continuing Professional Development in Investigating Modern Slavery. The course was delivered and accredited by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority working in partnership with the University of Derby. This enables Rhian to advise large businesses on their obligations under the Modern Slavery Act, in particular the production of a Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.
